26th August 2013
Windsurfing: Felixstowe dip
Wind Direction: NE
Wind Stength: F 3 - 4
Surf / Sea State: bumpy/swell
Air Temperature: warm
Sea Temperature: warm
Weather: sunny and warm
Max Speed: 24.49 kts (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 21.95 nm (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Missed the action Sunday so was rearing to get a sail Bank Hol Monday – Ian came in on 7.0 saying he couldn’t get going, yet the NE wind seemed to be blowing, measure 12kts + and sea looked great with good NE swells although wind with tide coming in. Great day on the beach loads of beachies, sunny and warm.
Rigged JP146L excite Pro / 8.7 Pryde H2 and blasted of the beach pretty overpowered! Bugger, 7.5 would have been much better. Had a great day and stayed with the same kit as couldn’t be arsed to change. Water was bumpy with big swell near the river with loads of yachts and only a couple of kites. Ian, Maker were also going well.
Angles were great for speed runs from the kite zone out to sea, but the gps 24.49kts didn’t really impress as I felt I was going faster. The 50cm MFC race fin does restrict speed for upwind performance so smaller fin next time me thinks. Squiz turned up later.
Played the waves near the river then bombed the flat water cranking into some hard carves a few metres from the beach crowd, well stoked as didn’t drop too many gybes, although wrecked the big panel on the sail, as I wacked in the sail head first on a nasty gust.
great day if a little over powered – sailed from 3-6pm with 2 x 1 hour stints.
